Jay Vincent began writing books at the youthful age of six years old. His first book was a profile of twenty-five breeds of horses with an illustration of each by the author. Each profile was 6-8 pages long so that the book, upon completion, was about 200 pages long - quite a feat for a six year old! Other books followed at the age of sixteen and then a 400 page work at the age of twenty-two. Jay Vincent wrote Entering the Privacy Zone when he was 25 and put the text away while he wrote other books and also pursued education. Jay Vincent writes two other series, The Crazy World of Medicine and Adventures of the Park Street Hounds that are due to begin publication in 2005. The author insists that his principle series is The Robert Boston Spy Series and the other series are lighter, even humorous, in order to generate relaxation between penning episodes of the hard and driving spy series. Periodically, Jay Vincent also writes an independent work of fiction such as Stalker and the Prey, a psychological thriller, and Men With Guns, which is a novel about the FBI in 1949. These two books are also due on the market in 2005. Jay Vincent holds two degrees in nursing, a degree in psychology and a doctorate in jurisprudence.
